OUR DENOMINATION
The Evangelical Church was born on June 4, 1968, in Portland Oregon. The church was started with a commitment to the core beliefs that:
-
The Bible is the Word of God.
-
Jesus Christ is the only pathway to God, truth, and eternal life.
-
People can be transformed by Jesus to love God with all their heart and their neighbor as their self.
-
God mobilizes followers of Jesus to spread His kingdom among all people.

Mission
The Evangelical Church today is committed to fulfilling God’s mission by spreading His kingdom on earth through making disciples of all people across cultural, ethnic, and/or national boundaries.
purpose
The purpose of Evangelical Church is to be OnMISSION. Being OnMISSION requires that we are:
-
Seeking: Intercessory Prayer to God for the Lost
-
Sacrificing: Denying self and taking up one’s cross.
-
Sharing: The Gospel so that the lost might be saved.
-
Showing: Believers the path to sanctified Spirit-filled life of Christ-like holiness.
-
Sending: Laborers into the Harvest.
Our hope is that you would know the salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and join Evangelical Church in being OnMISSION.
